Fabric Issues!

So my kids have been locked inside the house for days now-rain, naps....so decided we needed to get out for awhile and were do we go-Jo Ann Fabrics!! Poor kids...they know that store inside and out! We are lucky though where we live is very close to one of the largest Jo Ann store in the country ( so they say?) so the selection is pretty good..while feeding my fabric obsession today my daughter said some "pears" mommy and pointed to some very familuar fabric...Jo Ann is now carrying Alexander Henry prints..only a couple but the lady said they will be carrying more in the future...very good for them but very bad for me!!

A very cute little sweet pea!

So this weekend at our house was very exciting to say the least...my husband put up with me taking over our kitchen nook as the "studio" and then came up with a great idea of using our living room to finish up!! so thanks to him I was able to get some very cute shots of some new clothes I am adding in the next couple of weeks...this very cute sweet pea was little ava-almost 10 weeks old...when I started Pick A Stitch.com I really wanted to use sweet pea in the name-the knickname we had for lili when she was a baby..but every sweet pea something was taken for internet addresses...so my husband actually came up with Pick A Stitch...and over the past year it has grown on me and now couldn't imagine called something else? So here is a little sneak peak of some new things too come for spring...

Still can't believe it!

Friday will mark the day our son Grahm, will turn 9 months old...still having a hard time believing it..especially when I came across this picture the other night looking for some other stuff. He is so tiny and believe it or not still makes the same face!! We think he is days away from walking-that will open up a whole new world for him and us to say the least....can't believe he was ever this small..time goes so fast-have to enjoy every second you can.. I embroidered this outfit for him (before we knew it was a him!) and now getting ready to do big boy clothes for his one year picture...

A Pick A Stitch Christmas!

so..It has been a very long time since I last wrote a post......I know a little belated but I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas...want to thank everyone for making Pick A Stitch's first Christmas season a huge success...as you can see from the pictures...we had all the cousins decked out in some holiday corduroy dresses this year..those are my four cousins and my two..and our 94 year old grandma "mia"...this was the night before Santa came..
the beginning of the very long photos shoot!

The I have had enough Christmas nap..pap pap and lili in her new dora pajamas..fell asleep to a foot ball game of all things...
The kids and I were in PA a little longer than expected this year...I was snooping around and came across this hand embroidered baby quilt my mom's aunt had embroidered for my brother(that makes it 33 years old)..my pappy was Harry and his twin brother was Harold..they married Edna and Edith!! Edith made the blanket..nine squares in all with different animals embroidered on each..and still in great condition..I tried snagging it but mom wouldn't let me!

the chickens on the farm
and had to include the two little ones playing on it...
Something new I am working on for Pick A Stitch..I have found these great vintage picture frames-they are made from old doors and floorboards and put together for frames and other cool stuff...I am using them to hand embroider a type of baby announcement for the nursery..this is an example of what it will look like..you can choose the fabric or mail me some that matches the nursery or room you are putting it in...

Keep your eyes out for some new stuff coming for spring...a little picot for the babies and some fun bright colors for the toddlers..

Christmas at the beach

When you are two and 8 months old, how much fun is it to go to the beach in December and run around in your bare feet and play with the sand! We took the kids there this past weekend and had a great time..Of course had them decked out with some Pick A Stitch hats-love, love, love the red and green ribbon hat...I discovered them to late for this year but will definitely carry them next year
