Poor kids...they know that store inside and out! We are lucky though where we live is very close to one of the largest Jo Ann store in the country ( so they say?) so the selection is pretty good..while feeding my fabric obsession today my daughter said some "pears" mommy and pointed to some very familuar fabric...Jo Ann is now carrying Alexander Henry prints..only a couple but the lady said they will be carrying more in the future...very good for them but very bad for me!!

A very cute little sweet pea!

So this weekend at our house was very exciting to say the least...my husband put up with me taking over our kitchen nook as the "studio" and then came up with a great idea of using our living room to finish up!! so thanks to him I was able to get some very cute shots of some new clothes I am adding in the next couple of weeks...this very cute sweet pea was little ava-almost 10 weeks old...when I started Pick A Stitch.com I really wanted to use sweet pea in the name-the knickname we had for lili when she was a baby..but every sweet pea something was taken for internet addresses...so my husband actually came up with Pick A Stitch...and over the past year it has grown on me and now couldn't imagine called something else? So here is a little sneak peak of some new things too come for spring...

Still can't believe it!

Friday will mark the day our son Grahm, will turn 9 months old...still having a hard time believing it..especially when I came across this picture the other night looking for some other stuff. I hope as the year progresses I can add some more items for mom and dad but seeing as how we are busting out of our house now I am not sure where I would keep anything else!! But it is getting really hard to get..so I have been looking into having it made for Pick A Stitch.com. I love the white but would love to have it in a pink or my favorite, periwinkle, or even my all time favorite-Seersucker( with a cute little white sweater to match! looking into that too!) I think I found the material I have been looking for and just ordered some sampels tonight from a funky fabric store in the village. Purlsoho is this awesome fabric/yarn store in soho that carries a lot of Amy Butler, Rober Kaufman and Alexander Henry. Just ordred my samples and can't wait to get them!! I am learning all about pattern making, grading and manufacturering in high quantities. So hopefully by early spring they will be ready. I will keep you posted..

Tis the Season!

So the holiday season is really here! When owning a retail business the holiday season takes on a whole different meaning and makes it kind of hard to get in the spirit of things. So this morning while I sewed orders for Lil Lulu's my two year old and 7 month old watched Mickey's Christmas special on Disney-and now I can say I have the Christmas bug..I have the itch to get the tree and get out all the decorations and get up the 4 stockings! Last year there were only three to hang..so this year will be even more fun to watch the little ones open or try to open the presents. Enjoy this time of year, it all goes so fast and in the chaos of the season it is easy to forget the true meaning of it all. So enjoy the season and your loved ones.
